WEEKEND SCHOOL INFORMATION

Registration is is in full swing.  You may complete an application and leave it with the administration so that your children may be put on the waiting list.

Any parent that volunteers to teach will receive a 50% reduction in fees for the household.

Students must bring pencils, paper, and a 3-ring zippered binder or book bag to each class session.

ICVA Weekend School would like to welcome the parents and children to another exciting year! The teachers have been preparing very hard to make your child's time at school not only educational, but enjoyable as well. We all have to work very hard in order to maximize the productivity during the few hours a week that we have together.

School will start promptly at 9:45 AM. and continue to 1:25 p.m. We expect that all students arrive on time, as late students cause a distraction to classes already in session. Parents are to pick up their children promptly at 1:25. Teachers spend a great deal of time in the classroom as well as outside of the classroom preparing lessons. Please be courteous and arrive on time.

The teachers will follow a rigorous syllabus and will report students' progress periodically to their parents. In order to maximize the value of the educational experience, parents will be asked to be involved and assist their children with their homework.

NOTE: Parents will be fined $5.00 for each 15 minutes that they are late picking up their children

Students will be tested throughout the semester to monitor their progress. Homework will be sent home each week and expected to be complete prior to returning the following week. Students who do not complete their homework assignments will complete the assignment while the other students are having recess. This year, teachers will periodically be sending home evaluations of the students. This is to keep you, as parents, abreast as to the progress of your child, both academically and disciplinary. Report cards will be sent home at the end of the semester.

Subjects to be taught will include Arabic, Qur'an, and Islamic Studies. The classes may be integrated depending on the level of the students. The students may be split up based on gender, age, and ability. Registration fees are collected to pay for administrative costs such as photocopying materials, instructional supplies and equipment, course development materials, student activities, and a spring carnival to mention just a few. See the Student Registration Form for details.

There are snacks and lunch available to parents and students at a nominal charge (except during the month of Ramadhan. The proceeds go to the Center and School.

We look forward to working together this semester in making this year a success, insha'Allah.
